Introduction

community busYour community bus is run by volunteers for the benefit of the whole community. The bus complements existing public services  on routes selected after research showed a need.

It is operated under a subsidised non-profit making scheme, grant aided by the West Sussex County Council and the Rural Development Commission. Fares charged contribute to the running costs and the eventual replacement of the vehicle.

The bus can accommodate 16 passengers and is fitted with facilities for wheelchairs. All seats are fitted with lap and diagonal belts. The bus and all drivers are fully insured.

Wheelchair Access

Anyone requiring to use the bus with their wheelchair and/or requiring collection from their door should give at least 24 hours notice via the operations manager on 01444 400212.

Fares (From 2nd February 2004)

Fares apply irrespective of the distance travelled without a break in the journey. Bus passes can be used.

Adult Single - £1.50
Adult Return - £3.
Child/Concessionary Single - 75p
Child/Concessionary Return - £1.50

Private Hire

When not in service on scheduled routes the bus is available for hire by clubs, groups etc. at competitive rates. For further information call 01444 400212.
