An "engraving tool" is available for use by Warninglid Residents' Society members. It can be used for inscribing post codes etc. on metal and some other materials as part and parcel of security marking.
Loans can be for a few days and initially it is proposed to make a small charge (£1) for the loan to cover the possible cost of replacement engraving "bits".
Any enquiry about loans etc. to be made to Geoffrey Coe on 461326.
Quite a few members of the Warninglid Residents' Association now receive e-mails concerning crime and crime prevention. If you are not included on the e-mailing list you may like to have your name added. E-mails are a fast way of passing on information about criminal activity and warning the community at large. When any news does reach me, I can pass this on quickly by e-mail to those interested.
If you “sign-on” you will not be bombarded with numerous messages as only matters of local relevance will be sent. Your individual message will be sent as a blind copy so your address will not be notified to all recipients. If you wish to be added to the mail list please send me a short e-mail so that I will have your correct e-mail address. This is not a police initiative but is specifically for Warninglid Residents. I might add that you can communicate anything related to the Neighbourhood Watch to me, but where it is appropriate to pass information to the police, or of course in an emergency, the usual telephone numbers must be used. (999 for emergency, 0845 60 70 999 in other circumstances).
Geoffrey Coe.
Factsheets on Happy Holidays, Personal Safety, Beating Burglars and Home Security can be downloaded from: National Neighbourhood Watch Association.
